Here’s The Couple
Their journey started in 1967 when the girl was just 14 and the guy 16 years old. Meet the perfect ideal couple, Jo Taylor and Kevin Taylor. They know each other since school days. They have played, argued, partied, studied and shared most of their childhood things together. Jo was Kevin’s, childhood sweetheart ever since they became friends. As life went on, schoolmates turned to friends to lovers to a couple. It seemed like a short while that they first met and now they had a family of their own. In their home sweet home, they built a world of their own.
A family of their own, a life many people only dream about and nothing ever felt missing until the day they realized how desperately they were in need of a change.
Time Passed
Almost 50 years passed, the couple who chose to walk together on the road of life is now old. They raised 5 children who now live with their families. Over the years, they cherished so many unforgettable memories with their 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. They have been each other’s comfort zone and the best part about the two has always been that they’ve never judged each other on the basis of their looks and style.
Young Love
Jo and Kevin never had any trust issues in their relationship. They have grown out of the age of immaturity and became adults. As the famous singer Jimmy Buffett said, “wrinkles will only go where the smiles have been.” When Jo and Kevin spend time with their family, everyone learns so much from them that no other life book can teach. They have learned a lot with each other that their kids’ wish to have a happy life as Jo and Kevin.

“He was very handsome and young looking. To me, he was just the same as the Hollywood heart-throb Patrick Swayze,” tells Jo about the days when they started dating. They are no ordinary grandparents as they are always up for life and trying different things. They still roam around the city on their Kevin’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle having fun like newlyweds.

“She was my junior at the school, but there was something about her which attracted me to her,” recalls Kevin who always believed that he fell in love with Jo at the very first sight of her. What happened after years of their togetherness that one fine day they decided to do something unique and uncommon.
Never Cared About Looks
They have believed in doing each and every task with a lot of dedication and hard work. Hence, both Jo and Kevin has been so indulged in their family that they never really got a chance to think about themselves. The couple even went on stating, “we haven’t spent much time in front of the mirror since long.”
Frozen In Time
When their hair grew grey and their young years were over, Jo and Kevin got more time to spend doing what they wanted to do but as they were too busy to do. Once free from all their responsibility, unlike others they didn’t feel like resting at home rather they wanted to explore more and more.

Kevin strongly believes in making every day count and doing something new each day. Jo tells, “He is still crazy.” Kevin proudly says in an interview, “We got 80,000 miles on that thing!” Yes, their very own Harley Davidson takes them as long as they plan. Now, who’ll not admire their adventurous spirits?
Looks Stand Nowhere
The couple likes adventures in life but they were surely not big fans of taking any risk with their styles. While Kevin keeps a long beard, Jo goes with her evergreen look of lengthy locks. They went on for a long time in their life without bothering about giving it a change. They never even gave it a thought.
Grooming? No, No
Grooming was never on their lists. For more than 20 years, Kevin never shaved his beard. Jo hardly ever went for trimming. The idea of getting a new style never struck in their heads. But time changes and so do people. The interesting thing was yet to happen in their lives.

As they were too much in their daily routines neither Jo nor Kevin had any clue of any of the latest styles, and other grooming options available in the market. Kevin had a long bushy beard and Jo’s hair was rough from the daily rides. This was a weird thing but they never felt weird about it until one day.

Ambush Makeover is a TV show that has teamed up with Today News, the channel where the show is broadcasted. This show is known for changing enormous lives for the better. People love makeovers but Jo and Kevin were new to it. Their kids applied for it hoping their parents will be called for the show and will get the kind of change they’re looking for.
Selected
Jo and Kevin make a sweet and genuine couple and they were selected for the makeover session. The show had it planned for them. They were invited on a special day; Valentine’s Day. It was a present from the show members right before they complete 50 years of their marriage. Will the couple now be ready to accept the invitation?
Jo’s Excitement
Jo was extremely excited by the idea of a makeover. She was instantly ready to get rid of her decades-old hairstyle. But she wasn’t the only one invited at the show, Kevin was yet to agree on this whole makeover thing and he had his reasons for saying no.
Dear Beard
Kevin’s beard falls till his chest, that took years to grow. It finally grew to an extent to eventually give him the Santa Clause look. His beard was an important part of his look plus it suited him like anything. Even though Jo has been insisting on getting his beard trimmed, Kevin let it grow. Jo was very doubtful that Kevin will ever agree to go for the makeover.
Prize Winner
Kevin personally never thought of keeping a long beard. For him, it just happened in the course of time. But he kept it for a long time with a lot of care and attention. He even participated in a contest where the most attractive beard was to be awarded. when he reached the venue, he quickly combed his beard as it was all messed up from the bike ride.
A Spark
“Sometimes you need a change – especially when you’ve been married for 49 years!” tells Jo who appreciated the idea of the makeover. After Kevin agreed to go for the makeover, Jo couldn’t really believe that they both were finally up for doing it. They would’ve never imagined how they can transform within a few hours.
Completely Unbelievable
Their kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all were overjoyed to know that their parents are going to look completely different. They didn’t recall seeing them in a new style apart from the time they used to look at their old pictures. All of them were waiting for the big day, ie, the Valintine’s day.

It was time to reach the sets of Ambush Makeover. The couple reached the location on their beloved Harley. They wanted to know how it will go and all. But not even for a moment did they hesitate to go for it. This was nothing for them when they have lived their lives seeking adventures.

They were the most awaited Valentine’s Day special couple. The thought of meeting a couple who will be celebrating their silver Jubilee the very year was in itself magnificent. They wanted to know Jo and Kevin’s story and what brought them here today.
Master Of Scissors
One of the people who was supposed to be on the stage during the show was Louis Licari, the man who is known to do wonders to peoples’ hair. He is a prominent part of the fashion industry and can tell it just by looking at one’s face what style will suit the most. After all, the man is the owner of a famous salon named Licari Cutler in New York.
Styling Diva
Another judge on the stage with Louis was Jill Martin is an American Tv Personality. She won Emmy Award ten times which is enough to understand her passion for the styling world and more. She has been co-writer for the best-selling magazines’ name I Have Nothing to Wear!, Fashion for Dummies and The Weekend Makeover.
Meeting The Stylists
When Jo and Kevin met the two stylists they were finally satisfied that the people going to do the makeover were indeed good with their work. while Jo shared her feelings for her long locks that she likes anyway, Kevin too mentioned that how he is kind of used to his beard now.
Let It Begin
Before the makeover could start, Jo and Kevin were told that they can’t see each other during the makeover procedure So, they said bye to each other and headed to their rooms. They were already a little concerned but when separated they became anxious.
Love Affair
Louis on the show said, “I have never seen a couple of 49 years so in love”. The audience was liking Jo and Kevin. They had so much to share and people were interested in knowing. Louise did his part, brought the couple’s hair back to life. Jill was working on preparing the couple to see each other in a stylish look. She shopped a pair of silhouettes for them. She chose a couple of dresses for the couple keeping their likes and dislikes in mind. To make thing easier for the couple, Jill gave them small tips that will help them in buying in the future as they were not updated with the latest trends.
The Revelation
After the complete makeover, it was finally time to bring the lovebirds face to face. Not only the couple but everyone including the organizers, audience, the judges and the couple itself was ready to take a look at the big revelation. Everyone stood stunned to see them.
And Voila
Jo was the first one to come on the stage. And there she was, looking pretty and sober at the same time. Her old style of wearing loose clothes was gone as she was now wearing a fitted jacket. Looking at such an amazing change within a few hours was quite unbelievable.

Definitely, Jo was expecting a change but she could have never imagined herself the way she was looking right now. She seemed more confident as well as more gorgeous. From her new sharp eyebrows to her shiny lips everything was so attractive about this lady that everyone was waiting to see Kevin lose his heart to Jo all over again.

Her expressions spoke for her, her satisfaction with what the stylists did to her was visible in her smile. But the moment she looked at herself in the mirror she said, “Is it me?” She wanted to show herself to her hubby and see what have these people done to him.

Kevin was looking so perfect that evening. He got his beard all cut down and the new dark brown color suited him like anything and instead of wearing the tee and jeans he was in a tux. The red flowers in his hands could have been for his beloved Jo only.

“WOOH, My Man. Who are you?” said Jo who couldn’t stop looking at her husband. She was so overwhelmed and now she was enjoying the evening better now. Kevin’s looks were killer and girls in the audience were supporting it with the claps. A couple who has been together for 50 years was now seeing each other in a different avatar.

Kevin looked at himself in the mirror and was so shocked. The mirror was showing a different person and Kevin was yet believing that it was him. Unlike his wife he was speechless. He was so emotional and his eyes were teary to see what he actually looks like beneath all those hair.
