Love is nothing but a rollercoaster that takes you on a ride of surprises. This madly in love couple met a very big surprise when they shared their past with each other. They just didn’t know these important things about each other that was going to stun them.

Mr. Right

Amy Giberson after dating her beau Justin Pounders for a while understood that he is her Mr. Perfect. She had never felt so happy in her life as she did while being with him. They continued to let their love flourish further. It was then a picture of her past resurfaced and amazed Justin completely.

Seeing Him

Giberson has a very interesting past. She spent her childhood days in St. Petersburg, Florida. She during those time got a crush on a boy in her class of Preschool. They used to play together, eat together and watch games of tag in schoolyard together. Their cute romance captured everyone’s attention including the teachers. 30 years have passed by but their teacher still has their affection for each other inked in their mind. 

Remembering The Lovers

Their cute love story soon captured the attention of the whole school. Even after the 30 years flew by Diane Twar, the former owner, and teacher of Sunshine Preschool still remembers the toddler lovers. “They had a blast with each other. It was a quiet, bashful romance. They liked each other from afar, it was a young love, like a sweet crush.” she recalls to the People.

They Separated

Unfortunately, these tiny lovers had to part their ways after passing the kindergarten. They were only three years old when they had met each other and by the time she entered the university she had forgotten her first ever crush completely.   

Struggling Love Life

Giberson could never experience that innocent love afterward. She had a painful love life. She got deeply hurt everytime she got into a love affair. That happened so many time that her friend started advising her to not to give herself completely into relationships. 

The Unwanted Advise

In November 2016 while giving an interview to the Cosmopolitan, Giberson Opened up about her love life. she said “People would tell me, ‘Don’t be so open, Amy. Don’t trust so easily.’ But if I stopped doing that, it wouldn’t be me. It’s just absolutely nuts that I [was] the tragically misguided girl who was always let down.”

Back To The Town

After seeking love outside she came back to her hometown St. Petersburg by the time she reached her 32. Willing to settle down and failed to find any even close to the perfect man she resorted to an online dating site. Her efforts bore the fruit when her profile got noticed by another St. Petersburg local named Justin Pounders.

Losing Her Forever

Pounders too had a heartbreaking love life. He lost his fiancee Adrianne Roberts to death in 2012 when she got murdered callously. She was coming back to her home after having a farewell drink and got attacked by the murderer. They were about to move in together the day before the tragedy struck. After few years of that incident, he returned to St. Petersburg.

Forgetting The Past

It took Pounders couple of years to come over her dead fiancee. And when he got past it, he felt the need to have a settled life. He once again stepped into St. Petersburg in hope of finding love. In order to find someone for himself, he started surfing dating sites. One day while going through the profiles he came across the profile of Giberson and felt immediately attracted to her.

It All Started With A Photo

In November 2015, Pounder while interacting with the PEOPLE talked about his reaction when he came across her photo. He said “I saw her photo and for whatever reason was instantly drawn to her. She just had this great energy, you could tell. I can’t explain it, but I knew I had to get to know this girl.” He took the required next step without delaying further and contacted her, they decided to see each other on a date.

An Unknown Bond

They met each other in person on December 3, 2014, and felt strongly attracted to each other. The feelings they had for each other was so visibly intense that their waiter inked that date on their dessert plate. She explained to PEOPLE “When we met up and we hugged, it was like I had known him my whole life.”

An Indescribable Comfort

Giberson revealed to the Cosmopolitan “Not even halfway through dinner I found myself shivering because I was so excited. I remember telling myself, ‘I’m going to be having dinner with this man for the rest of my life.’” In no time they developed a strong bond with each other and started meeting.

A Confession

It had been two months of them dating each other when Pounder revealed something to her. Giberson recounts  “Justin casually mentioned he always liked my name because his first crush was a girl named Amy in preschool. I joked and said, ‘Well it wasn’t me, so I don’t want to hear about this Amy.’”

Noticing Something

After spending three months together Giberson noticed a scar on the forehead of Pounders while he was touching that. Out of curiosity, she asked him about that and he said that in preschool he liked to play monkey bar and once while playing he fell down and injured his forehead. With it, they had many things in common.

Old Ties

They both soon realized that they were enrolled in the Sunshine Preschool at the same time. Although they assumed that they must have never confronted each other as they did not remember people common to each other.  

The Curiosity

Giberson really wanted to know how close were they in their Preschool days. So she asked her mother to help her in finding her kindergarten’s group picture. When she showed this picture to his boyfriend he just could not believe. They were sitting with each other in the picture.

Being Amy

Giberson narrated the incident to PEOPLE, “We asked our parents to dig up any preschool photos they had. Justin’s mom found a photo of the two of us together and I just started crying, I was ecstatic. I was the Amy he had liked all those years ago! It was definitely meant to be.”

The Proposal

Pounders just a year after their second meet decided to take their relationship to the next level. It happened when the couple was narrating their unbelievable love story to The View and the camera suddenly paid a visit to their preschool. The camera focused on the students that were holding up a board that read “Amy, will you marry me?”

Getting Married

They exchanged vow with each other on the auspicious day of November 18, 2016. They chose Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg as the wedding venue. Who knew that these childish romance would turn out into a serious and committed one.
