She during those time got a crush on a boy in her class of Preschool. They used to play together, eat together and watch games of tag in schoolyard together. Their cute romance captured everyone’s attention including the teachers. 30 years have passed by but their teacher still has their affection for each other inked in their mind.

Even after the 30 years flew by Diane Twar, the former owner, and teacher of Sunshine Preschool still remembers the toddler lovers. “They had a blast with each other. It was a quiet, bashful romance. They liked each other from afar, it was a young love, like a sweet crush.” she recalls to the People.

They Separated

They were only three years old when they had met each other and by the time she entered the university she had forgotten her first ever crush completely.

Don’t trust so easily.’ But if I stopped doing that, it wouldn’t be me. It’s just absolutely nuts that I [was] the tragically misguided girl who was always let down.”

Back To The Town

Willing to settle down and failed to find any even close to the perfect man she resorted to an online dating site. Her efforts bore the fruit when her profile got noticed by another St. Petersburg local named Justin Pounders.

Losing Her Forever

He lost his fiancee Adrianne Roberts to death in 2012 when she got murdered callously. She was coming back to her home after having a farewell drink and got attacked by the murderer. They were about to move in together the day before the tragedy struck. After few years of that incident, he returned to St. Petersburg.

Forgetting The Past

He once again stepped into St. Petersburg in hope of finding love. In order to find someone for himself, he started surfing dating sites. One day while going through the profiles he came across the profile of Giberson and felt immediately attracted to her.

It All Started With A Photo

He said “I saw her photo and for whatever reason was instantly drawn to her. She just had this great energy, you could tell. I can’t explain it, but I knew I had to get to know this girl.” He took the required next step without delaying further and contacted her, they decided to see each other on a date.

An Unknown Bond

The feelings they had for each other was so visibly intense that their waiter inked that date on their dessert plate. She explained to PEOPLE “When we met up and we hugged, it was like I had known him my whole life.”

Giberson recounts  “Justin casually mentioned he always liked my name because his first crush was a girl named Amy in preschool. I joked and said, ‘Well it wasn’t me, so I don’t want to hear about this Amy.’”

Noticing Something

Out of curiosity, she asked him about that and he said that in preschool he liked to play monkey bar and once while playing he fell down and injured his forehead. With it, they had many things in common.

Old Ties

Although they assumed that they must have never confronted each other as they did not remember people common to each other.

So she asked her mother to help her in finding her kindergarten’s group picture. When she showed this picture to his boyfriend he just could not believe. Justin’s mom found a photo of the two of us together and I just started crying, I was ecstatic. I was the Amy he had liked all those years ago! It was definitely meant to be.”

The Proposal

Getting Married
