His account is “Captantarcitca” on the website, he decided to make a revelation about something eerie and strange he uncovered when he was digging the backyard of his house. Another question that comes to mind is why he would dig up his backyard in the first place and what was it that he found?

What he found was an original plan or the blueprint of how his home was supposed to look like from the “city records” that made him realize that there was something buried deep down underneath his backyard. Since John could not contain his excitement, he actually went and bought himself a metal detector to make use of in his backyard. We all know that sometimes metal detectors can be misleading but John was not about to give up hope. He found 2 potential locations to dig up. So in order to get his anticipation and excitement over with, he began digging vigorously. What he discovered straightaway sent shivers down his spine. His shovel encountered a metal object, which was a little hard to specify since it had been covered with such a thick layer of dirt. The only thing he could do was to continue digging to find out…

A Lid?

As he made his way down, John found that the metal he hit was actually a metal lid! It was getting more and more exciting for John. For him to uncover that this was a heavy metal lid, he had to do quite the digging. He was so curious as to what the cover was used for? John could not wait to find out what was inside and so he began to dig even more…

What Lies Under?

As you could have imagined, it took a lot of effort on the part of John so as to completely remove the extremely heavy metallic lid he had found. He had been working and digging his backyard for a few hours now but that all proved to be rewarding as he was able to uncover all that was hiding for years deep in his backyard. Well, what was it?

Lifting The Lid

As soon as he could lift the lid, John’s curiosity could not be controlled as he immediately wanted to see what was inside. He was left quite puzzled after he saw the peculiar objects lying right there before him. This is why John was after all that digging. John could not identify if these were stairs or blades so he wanted to investigate even further.

I’m Going In

The dirt that covered the opening was somewhat of a challenge to clean off. Again he had no choice but to just clean the whole opening as it was the only way he could get inside. He was more amazed minute by minute to see what had been hiding there all along. He had to keep in mind that he was about to jump into something he had no clue of…

As he cleaned the dirt in no time, John was able to make an entrance for himself to fit. When he stepped foot on it, he understood that it was actually a staircase and not at all blades. He made his way down as carefully as he could. There was something about not knowing what awaited inside that sparked intrigue and excitement in him…

Tunnel Of Terror

Even though he had seen the blueprint of this place he could not completely understand how the tunnel and staircase worked. This incredible structure, he realized, had been built and abandoned years ago. He could also sense a little discomfort and spookiness inside which he immediately felt after the very first step. The next thing he encountered added to the creepiness of the place.

Was It A Shelter?

He then came upon an electric fan and a hand-crank fan after further entrance. He also came to learn that the people that stayed there had ventilated air for a considerable amount of time. Since it was so meticulously made, John was blown away by the discovery of this bomb shelter under his own garden. He wanted to see more and more and be amazed by this unexpected discovery.

Out With The Old

John had to clean up the mess on the shelter and the staircase before he could walk inside. He would be able to hopefully discover other things in the rubble. He was sure that if restored, this place could be flipped into the perfect man cave. However, in order to be sure, John would have to fully explore what lay inside this place before jumping to these conclusions.

Intense Labour

Sine the pile of dirt and debris was a lot, it was going to take a lot more than just a few minutes for John to be able to freely enter the place. He was going to have to put in a lot of work in order to get clear the passage for him to navigate the inside. John had no intentions of stopping now as he had done so much. Nothing was going to stop him from finding out what lay inside.

Not At All Safe

Since the staircase was covered with loads of rust, the pile of dirt was not the only thing restricting John from doing what he wanted. Since rust can lead to structure breaking off easily, there was a risk that John was under, as he could fall and injure himself on these stairs. Even though he wanted to enter the place immediately, John knew he had to take the necessary precautions first.

Cleared The Pile…

After hours upon hours of cleaning, John was finally able to see the insides of the stairway clearly and freely. After doing all of his cleanings, he could now stop worrying about falling or tripping as it was all clean and clear now. However, there was something that John had to do before he could enter the hidden place with no worries. Then what was this?

Called For Help

What John did was include his other mates to help him to not just renovate but explore the “shelter” completely. Just as he was, John’s companions were equally thrilled and excited to see what lay inside this mystery. They were all interested in helping John find a way to the new world deep down in the backyard through the staircase.

Things Speeded Up

In order to strengthen it, the group of men worked hard to dig up some more, in and around the entrance. They took up a very long time to nicely dig up the hidden mystery to make sure that they did not risk their lives if they were to explore the insides without any threat. They used up some concrete and did some rebuilding, making it look fairly new…

Years Of Neglect

Many years had passed since this place had not been used, there was a lot of work that needed to be done to clean up the whole place. If John had to do this work all alone, it would have probably taken him days to finish. But, since he had included his friends in this journey towards uncovering the mystery in his backyard, he saved a lot of time.

The Boyz Are Back In Town

The group of friends spent some time cleaning up the entrance of this mysterious place and epoxied the rebar as a safety measure. They really needed to do this as there was a huge potential for getting injured or meeting with an accident when they enter. It would be unfortunate if any of them met with an accident because they did not take precautions.

Blood, Sweat, Tears

Since there were so many things piling up all those years, this was nothing short of a tiring task and a very time-consuming one. Since John and his mates were so intrigued by what they could hopefully uncover inside, they did not stop until they could freely explore the place. The intense pain and labor were not even slowing them down. They actually grew more excited…

A Wooden Frame

They started by putting some concrete then went on to secure the rebar, it was finally time to secure the outer part of the shelter as well. They had to build a wooden frame in order to see this through. Their excitement was growing each moment as they became more certain that they would be able to explore the site without having to worry about meeting with an accident or injury.

Whistle While You Work

As we have mentioned earlier, there had been a lot of things that the men had to accomplish and one of the most tedious work was to form and pour the concrete. The amount of work that was needed would equate to the amount used to build the structure. They guys did not even complain and worked hard keeping in mind the goal at the end.

All In A Day’s Work

The men made use of a Sonotube cardboard form so as to protect the interior of the hidden stairway’s entrance. This was important because if the entrance collapsed, they would have to start all over. The men wanted to make sure that they did not destroy anything that the site originally had when the time would come to explore the inside.

Bomb Shelter Chic

So in order for them to enter the structure, they had to brainstorm and come up with a proper plan. They decided on placing a conduit for electricity apart from carrying other utilities just to be cautious. Even though these were extreme measures, they did not want to risk failure and took any steps they felt was necessary to enter the site.

Little By Little

John and his friends did a good job of reforming the site as evident in this photo. They were in a hurry but they knew that taking these necessary steps was crucial. The concrete that they made use of was coming into form perfectly with no issue for these men at work. Still, their job was not done. There were a few things on their list of things to do.

Summer Heat

Since it was such a draining work and the sun was upright and blazing hot, they needed to save themselves. So to protect themselves from the scorching heat of the sun, they decided to make a tent to shade them while at work. The men were too excited to call it quits and so they did all that they could to continue working towards their goal in mind.

Determination Station

Even though their task was taking up more time than they had anticipated, John and his friends were not quitters and they did not stop. They were determined and focused on exploring the insides of the site so the work was not going to be an obstacle. They were so driven that it seemed as though there was nothing that could stop them now…

Rollin Up Their Sleeves

It is a tough job to lay out concrete as you cannot hurry and speed things up. The men at work were just glad that they could add another tick mark to one of the tasks that needed to be completed. They were slowly but surely getting close to the goal and they could not have been more excited. Their coordination and efforts were starting to pay off.

Digging Deep

The base needed some sort of support so that was when they decided to build a rebar. This is something that all builders must know because it is extremely important to always secure the top of any structure to eliminate the dangers of accidents and injuries. John and his friends were slowly nearing their final goal so they were very glad.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

This is the image and the slow progress that the structure took before being completed. It really did take a lot of time and effort to be able to finish it. They needed to be patient and wait for the concrete to set well and firm. Since they had worked really hard to pull this off, the guys were happy to know that it was nearing completion.

Taking Shape

Just a few days back, this site was something that was hidden and concealed under the ground but now it had transformed into this. It was almost ready to be explored. The time had finally come for them to excavate the insides of this mysterious structure.

Pure Amazement

The crew had been working hard and endlessly under the blazing hot sun. It was time to take a break and catch their breath and energize themselves. They were quite content to see that their work had finally taken some shape and that they were nearing the end of this time-consuming task. They could pat themselves on the back for being an effective team.

Finally…..

Their patience also paid off and now the concrete had fully dried up and set. It was now possible for them to take a look inside. The whole team found it unbelievable that this mysterious tunnel that they had worked on for so long could finally be explored. They worked so hard on it and perfected it so much that it looked somewhat new.

What A Discovery!

The black pipe that is clearly visible here is the main entrance of the tunnel which they would be exploring in a short while. They had been working hard to build this structure and that too without complaining once, so to say that they were excited would be an understatement. They had to build this because the air concentration deep under was insufficient.

Time To Explore

It was now the moment of truth to uncover what the insides of this long abandoned and mysterious tunnel had been hiding from the world all these years. The finished concrete work meant that it was safe and sound for the men to fully explore the inside of this site. What do you think awaits them inside? Could there be another living being?

Inside Wonders

If they had not worked hard on removing the old staircase and placing a brand new one, it would have certainly injured someone. The state in which these stairs were was terrible and would not have been able to hold anyone. The chances of someone collapsing due to loads of rust on it was very high.

Secret Stairways

John had been studying the blueprint of this structure for a long time. He could finally understand that this was, in fact, a bomb shelter that was built many years ago. It must have been someone’s desperate attempt to protect themselves from a potential disaster or apocalypse of some sort.

The Starting Of Revelations!

John has been working as a fireman so he knew exactly what needed to be done when someone needs to be rescued from a small space. What John and his friends found out was that the person who built this place was fully aware of all the basic necessities to survive here.

A Better View

This is a clear photo that shows exactly how the “bunker” looked. They were shocked to find that it had been in this pristine condition even after all those years of remaining unattended. It also looked quite fancy as the place had a dome and a doorway as well.

The Ceiling

The fiberglass on the ceiling of this place was also breaking apart and it needed quick fixing. If they did not act quickly, it could possibly cause a great deal of harm to the health of anyone who enters this place. The lungs would clearly be affected…

Removed It

The guys did not waste time and the fiberglass was immediately removed by them. Look at this image and see what they again discovered. They knew straight away that they needed to remodel and revamp the place if they wanted it to keep it from breaking apart.

The Interior Found

Since there was quite a lot of work to do, the men spent all day long renovating the place. This image is what the bomb shelter looked like after. They knew that it was not something special but were determined to transform it into something interesting.

Incredible History

John was glad to be able to finally see with his own eyes what had been hiding in his backyard all the while. He was happy to see that his hard work with his friends was finally fruitful. He was still shocked and astounded to see what was really inside.

More To Do

John soon spoke about the mysterious findings in his backyard after everything was explored. He was happy to announce that he would continue on with his project until he finished it properly. He was also glad to know that his friends were on board too.

New Construction

Keeping aside the cosmetic and fancy looks they had remade, John and his men went straight to work again to solidify and cement the structure from falling apart. This photograph shows the men’s new work that they hope to finish in a while.

Getting Closer

They had given so many improvements and adjustments to the structure to make sure the condition if it was not degrading. Their main aim was to give it a more compact and secure look. The entry and exit to the tunnel were now easy.

Future Plans

So what does John plan to do in the future? He says that he wants to restore the bunker completely and would also work towards giving the space the original look it was intended to have. He also swore to keep everyone posted on the progress he makes with his new obsession.
