COUPLE FROM IDAHO FINDS A SINKHOLE INSIDE THEIR GARAGE THAT UNEXPECTEDLY REVEALS A BIG MYSTERY
It was 4:00 am in the morning and the couple was lost in their sleep when they heard a crashing sound. It was loud enough to pull them out of their sleep. They woke up hastily to see what that happened. They thought some had broken in their house but that was not the case. A sinkhole had occurred in their garage. That was not the end of the mystery. The sinkhole had brought a mystery to the light that the garage had been concealing for long.
Idaho
Idaho is a northwestern state of the U.S. The state is primarily known for mountains and wilderness. The region is a host of diverse flora and fauna. Along with that, the region is known for its peaceful nature.
Bushs
Britanny Bush and her family has been living in Idaho for quite some time now. She has a young son. The woman is very friendly by nature and has good relations with all her neighbors. the house they were living in was built about a half century ago.
Ordinary And Simple
Their house was as ordinary as any other house in the town. They had a spacious house with a vast backyard and a garage where they used to keep their old stuff. The garage was more like a storeroom for them. They used to keep their old stuff out there.
Fateful Night
The dark had taken the entire town under its wings. It was 12 in the night and Britanny and her husband was sleeping with their only son. It was a small town that used to fall quiet with the ascending darkness. Things were quite peaceful there. But unlike every other night, this night was holding something unexpected for them.
A Noise
It was a loud crashing sound. The couple awoke with a racing heart. Perhaps someone had broke in their house. They switched the lights on and started searching the entire house. There was no trace of any mishappening. Had they dreamt? But how come both of them saw the same dream?
All Good?
They looked around their house but there was no one and then they went outside to check their neighborhood but there too everything seemed in place. They were the only ones roaming outside. They went back to their home and returned to their bed. The next morning was going to change their lives for good.
Next Morning
It began ordinarily. Britanny sent her son to the school and was helping her husband to get ready for the office. By then they had forgotten about the sound and were all consumed in their day to day work. The woman had some work in the garage so she headed towards that.
Surprise!!!
The woman would have never expected in her entire life what was she going to witness. She opened the gate of the garage only to get the biggest surprise of her life that stripped her face of color. What had happened?
He Couldn’t Speak
The woman shrieked at the top of her voice. She was shivering as well. Her husband came running towards her only to get as surprised as his wife. Their garage was nothing like before. Now they realized where that noise had come from.
A Mess
The whole of the garage was a mess. Things were upside down. It seemed as if some kind of storm had struck the place. No, there was no trace of a break-in. No human can create such a big mess as it was there in their garage. What had gone wrong in one night?
What The…
All the stuff had slid into the center of the garage. But how did it happen and why? The entire garage was in disorder. The woman stayed outside rooted to the spot. Her husband who was equally astonished could not gather the courage to enter the garage.
Just The Beginning
Apparently, they had no idea what had gone wrong with their garage. However, they were yet to find out the seriousness of the matter. They were yet to find out that their garage had turned into a sinkhole. A sinkhole that uncovered all the secrets that were piled up in their house for years.
Sinking Down
Britanny said, “As I was pushing the garage door up, my right foot was stepping into the garage and just kept going down.” She continued, “I was holding onto the garage door and looked down and just started screaming. I’m like, ‘Our whole garage is sunk down!’”
Lucky Woman
Britanny was fortunate enough to not to fall into that hole. Had she been little less careful, the hole could have gulped her completely. Luckily she managed to elude the accident. She screamed out in horror.
Shouting Out
Britanny reminisces, “[I] looked down and screamed for Tanner when I saw what happened,” she added, “Feeling so blessed I didn’t fall in!” So how did Tanner feel when he saw this giant hole in his garage?
Reaching Her
Britanny’s husband Tanner was busy doing some random work when he heard Britanny’s scream. He rushed towards the garage not knowing a big surprise was awaiting him. Then he saw his wife clinging on to the door of the garage.
Breaking News
The news spread like wildfire into the town. This was the first time something like this had happened in the town. Neighbors and other town people began to pour in her house to see the garage. It was difficult to believe that the garage had sunk but you can’t deny what you see with your own eyes.
Burning Question
Curiosity had taken over the entire town. Everyone wanted to know how this hole came to be. No one had any explanation. One thing was sure that it was not any human’s deed. No human in this world can do something like this.

They got it right. It was a sinkhole. A sinkhole in the middle of the residential space. Sinkholes are not a new phenomenon and in many cases have proven to be fatal. Luckily this incident did not lead to any casualty. However, their assumption was soon going to be proven wrong.

A sinkhole is a term used for a ground that has been prone to collapsing. One thing about sinkhole is that they have no external surface drainage. So during rains, the water stays inside the hole only. The depth of sinkholes varies from a few feet to 100 feet.
The Investigation
The investigation had begun. Britanny and her husband had started studying the room. Though it was risky, they could not resist as the curiosity had taken the best of them. It was time to unravel the mystery.
Slid Down
The whole of the content of the house had gathered in the middle of the garage. Everything had slid down inside a hole. A hole that was just not a hole but something else. They were soon going to find out the depth of this incident. They were about to embark on a new journey.
The Room
It was then they found something astonishing. They finally had found the reason behind the collapsing of their garage. There was a room under their garage. A room that they had no idea about.
Huge Secret
The duo had no idea that the garage they had been using for years was holding such a huge secret. A room was hiding beneath it. How come there was a room under the garage. They were soon going to find out.
A New World
They entered the room with utter astonishment and curiosity. The 12 feet deep room opens with a full-size doorway that seemed to be constructed a few years ago before the family moved in.
Reaching The Bottom
Brittany Bush described the tedious process of digging the room. She said she had to dig 2 and a 1/2 feet of rubbish in order to reach the bottom of the place. It was not an easy task as she had to give lots of her time.
Bringing In
It was too dark to see anything inside it. Luckily they had brought in their flashlight. There was a shelving unit inside the room that had some stuff scattered on them.
Layer Of Dust
Everything had a thick layer of dust on them. Not only that, but they all had gone whithered also due to the passing of time. What was the purpose of this room? Britanny and her husband proceeded with their investigation.
Glass Bottles
They picked some of the objects kept on the shelving units and investigated them. They figured that there were a lot of glass bottles on the shelving unit. What were they for? Not knowing the purpose of these glass bottles they kept on searching.
Documents
Britanny saw a set of large boxes that had stored old documents. Besides, they noticed the walls of the room were in their worst condition. Every crack in the wall was filled with mildew and mold.
Belongings Of A Woman
Most of the items found in the room seemed to be the possession of children and a woman. They saw many kids’ toys, also handbag of a woman. Along with that, they also got their hands on a letter and a curler. You might call it strange but the really weird item was yet to surface.
The Purpose
Was this room used by some woman and children? Did they use it to hide? There were a lot of questions staring directly in the face of the Bushs. But would they ever be able to find out the answer to these questions?
A Letter
Most of the letters had faded with their sides tattered but there was one that appeared intact. They picked it up to see who was it addressed to. It was to see where their journey was going to take them.
To A Business
The letter was addressed to a business named “Melaleuca: The Wellness Company.” It happens to be an online wellness company that works by providing a number of health products to the customers. The company is based out of Idaho Falls. But the question was why this letter was kept inside the house.
Not That Harmful
As far as this disaster is concerned, Britanny was happy that it did not lead to much harm. The occurrence of sinkholes often causes devastation. Thankfully, here the sinkhole turned out to be in the garage where no one was around. They had to solve the mystery at any cost.
Safe And Secured
As the incident had happened in their own house, they had to make sure that they were safe and secured. What if another calamity would hit them. Luckily for them, they were secured. In order to evaluate the scene, Britanny’s husband called an insurance agent who came along with an engineer.
Garage An Important Part
Furthermore, the garage needed to be repaired as it had gotten completely damaged. Though they were not using the space to park vehicles, they still needed it as it had stored many of their useless stuff.
Bomb Shelter?
Nobody was sure about the purposes of the room but the couple assumed it to be a bomb shelter. However, the engineer did not take a second on turning it down. The structure of the room was telling a different story. He was surprised that this did not cave in any sooner. The cement happened to be only a couple inches thick.
Two Inch Far
The floor demarcating the room and the garage was only two inches thick. Clearly, the room was covered hurriedly. Not much thought was given to the construction. Why was it so necessary to cover the room?
Something Unexpected
Britanny explained “[The insurance provider and engineer] said don’t be alarmed if there is a body down there.” He continued, “‘We hope there’s not but if there is stop what you’re doing and call the police.’”
A Basement Home
Britanny said, “Our home was built in the 50’s and it was built as a basement home.” She added, “Then someone came in the 70’s and remodeled it and added the second story.”
Sketchy
She said, “He (the engineer) said it is definitely not a bomb shelter.” “He says this looks very sketchy and is wondering what the backstory is.” Well, the duo were up on their toes to find out the story lurking behind this debris.
Not Documented
What more, they learned that their discovery had no trace on any city or county records. They tried to look for documents or any paperwork holding the record of the room. So does it mean that the room was not constructed officially? Was it suppose to be a secret room but why?
Mystery Of The Town
It was not only Britanny and her husband but the whole of the town was surprised and curious to find out more about the mystery. No doubt, the discovery was amazing and they were sure that the root cause of it would be equally interesting.
Not Rare
As mentioned earlier sinkholes are not an uncommon phenomenon in some part of the world. And history has it that some of those holes played a big part in revealing underground mysteries that would have never got uncovered.
Searching It Out
Brittany and her husband took to the debris caused due to the sinkhole for further investigation. They were hopeful that they would find something worthwhile. The room now a pile of debris had taken their curiosity to another level. The couple needed to find out what purpose did the room serve.
Cleaning The Mess
In order to find out more about the room, they had to clean it first. Britanny knew that the cleaning process was going to take lots of their efforts and time but still she took up the task as this was the only way to get to the bottom of the mystery.
To Be Solved
The mystery is still unsolved but the curiosity is still flaming inside the couple. They are not going to give up. They have decided to not to rest until they find out answers to all their questions.

Ever imagine finding a secret room under your house? Well, this is not something that happens to everyone. Interestingly in this discovery, nature played an equally important part as the humans did.
House Of Mysteries
This is not the sole case where the owner a house learned an unbelievable secret of their house. Some found a secret chamber beneath their backyard, some found an entirely different civilization under their basement and here the owners found a room.
