Crying soldier at airport stopped from boarding

 May 4, 2018, started like any regular day for the airport workers. However,  in the afternoon, airline staff at a gate noticed something odd: a soldier, in a combat uniform, sitting and staring intently at his phone for a long time before he started sobbing loudly. One of the staff decided to approach the soldier, something was obviously wrong, besides, his flight was about to take off and he needed to be boarding already. At the moment the staff came near the soldier, someone yelled “don’t let him board the flight!” 

Brooks Lindsey met his wife Haley Wilson in 2015, in their hometown in Jackson, Mississippi. They became inseparable from their first date, one unbreakable pair of hearts that were falling deeply in love.

 Their love was binding and fulfilling, Wilson supported Brooks in pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a soldier for the U.S Army. 

Lindsey was able to make his dream come true and joined the military. Soon after his enlistment, the young couple got married, becoming the Lindseys.  The newlyweds couldn’t wait to grow their family despite their young age. While Brooks and Haley were still pretty young, they couldn’t wait to start a family together. Shortly after they exchanged their heartwarming vows, they were about to find out one of the best news of their lives.

  The couple didn’t know that Haley was already pregnant with the couple’s first baby even before their marriage. Once they found out, they couldn’t hold their excitement and had to share the happy news with everyone!

 Soon enough, Haley started heading to doctor’s appointments, ultrasounds and even baby classes, all with Brooks by her side.  The couple’s joy only intensified the day they found out that they were expecting a baby girl.

           Brooks wanted nothing more than to stay by his wife’s side during her pregnancy and care for her during every phase,  but duty came knocking at the door.  Brooks was part of the 2nd Battalion, 114th Field Artillery Regiment,  he needed to go to Fort Bliss, Texas, for training, after which Brooks was to be deployed to Kuwait for a full nine-month tour.

 Brooks wasn’t ready to say goodbye to his  wife and unborn child, but he had no other choice. Meanwhile, Haley’s pregnancy was stable and both her and the baby were healthy and safe.  Brooks started his preparations for the shipment, not knowing whether he’ll be there when his child first sees the sunlight.

 

The day Brooks had to leave for the tour finally came. He kissed his  7-month pregnant wife goodbye and headed to the airport. 

The goodbye was hard on both of them, they were parting with the hopes of having Brooks witness the birth of their daughter. In case that wasn’t possible, the couple had already agreed on a name for their baby girl: Millie. 

 

 

Haley’s pregnancy was progressing fine and her baby was healthy, the only issue that troubled Haley a bit was her occasionally high blood pressure. Everyone reassured her that it was normal due to pregnancy.

  Only a few weeks were separating Haley from embracing her daughter for the first time. IHaley wasn't the only  one awaiting her baby’s birth, the entire family was looking forward to holding her in their arms. With the due date approaching, Haley’s worry about the high blood pressure increased, especially that this was her first pregnancy, she wouldn’t be able to afford anything bad happening to her child.

 With only a few days left, she still hoped Brooks could come home.
