A couple awaiting a baby girl found out they were having TRIPLETS!

 

You are probably familiar with the famous phrase, “Be careful what you wish for.” 

A phrase that was to be -- 

The married couple, Angie and Gino Colonna, from Southern California, certainly got more than they bargained for when they prayed for a little baby girl. 

The couple had a son, and were hoping for a baby girl to complete their family, but fate decided to give them yet another beautiful son.  Angie and Gino were incredibly grateful for their happy life and their healthy boys, but they couldn’t help the feeling that they had something missing from their life: a baby girl! 

The couple kept praying for a little girl to add some glitter to their life, and prayed for a little girl, and, soon enough, Angie became pregnant!

Angie and Gino have always had strong parenthood instincts. In fact,  they actually discussed their favorite baby names on their first dates! They even agreed that they wanted at least one boy and one girl.

Angie found out that she was pregnant with their first child just a few months after their wedding. They were both ecstatic at the thought of becoming parents of a beautiful baby boy, and growing their family even more. Two years later,  Angie surprised Gino with the news that they were expecting baby number two!  The couple expanded their family and welcomed another healthy baby boy.

 

Angie and Gino led a happy fulfilled life, everyone else saw them as the perfect family, it seemed like they already had everything one could want: a beautiful home, each other, and two happy, healthy sons.

While Angie and Gino adored their life in Southern California, the parents did feel as though a certain feminine energy was missing.. The couple kept praying  for a baby girl for years, but there was no pregnancy news, no girl in sight. That is, until the day Angie felt some odd morning sickness. Just to be safe, she decided to take a pregnancy test…

 

Angie was nervously waiting for the test results walking back and forth in the bathroom. After five long minutes the test displayed double red lines! Angie was pregnant again! Ecstatic, she ran to tell Gino, the parents could not wait to find out if they were finally going to have the girl they have always wanted. Angie booked an appointment with her doctor to have an ultrasound check on the same day. Not only did they want to know the sex of the baby, but they also needed to know if the baby was healthy and safe.

 

 Dr. Daneshmand wheeled them into the room and explained the procedure to Angie and Gino. Of course, being parents of two sons at home, the couple was quite familiar with the entire process. Few minutes after the ultrasound, their happy news was here: they were expecting a girl! The couple exchanged a fervent kiss of celebration, their long-awaited baby girl was finally here.

However, as Gino looked back at the doctor, he noticed that he did not share their happiness, something was wrong.  

 

   As the doctor continued the ultrasound, his expression shifted from excitement to shock. He discovered that Angie was actually carrying not one, but THREE babies. The couple was about to have triplets!

As Angie’s doctor performed the ultrasound, he noticed that she had not one, but two placentas. Two of the baby girls were sharing one placenta and had split from a single egg, making them identical twins, while the third baby girl had formed from an entirely different egg. This only made Angie’s pregnancy more rare and dangerous! While their babies were healthy, the doctor had little other good news…
