MEDICAL CLINIC RESCUES 2 PUPS ROTTING IN A DUMPSTER AND HELPS THEM GET BACK TO HEALTH!
Pooches are love. If you have one then you don’t need any other companion. But unfortunately, we are not as good with them as they are to us. Whereas they are the best companion one can get, human proves to be their worst companion. Here is another story which reminds us of the callous nature humans possess. Two pups of three months were found in a dumpster by a man who had gone there to throw trash. Luckily, the man was kind-hearted and he decided to inform the nearby clinic about it who immediately arrived at the spot to rescue them. And from
San Antonio Pets Alive!
The “San Antonio Pets Alive!” does a very altruistic job. It is a medical clinic and organization that rescues dogs from shelters that puts them on the euthanasia list. Their entire place is occupied by these dogs who are to be deprived of their lives only because there is no space available for them. And one day the institution had a visitor.
I Have These Puppies
One fine morning a man stepped in the center with two puppies who must not be older than 3-month. He had spotted them on the street. And he had come to the center to give it to them but the organization refused to take them in by stating that they don’t take strays in. But they assisted him by giving him directions to other shelters that would have free space to admit them.
Abandoned Puppies
Kylie Brasher, the clinic director stated that the employees did give the man directions towards another shelter. The man went away with both the pup and the worker of shelter watched him till he went off their sight. However, the man did not go far from their building. Sadly, he too abandoned the puppies as it all became too messy for him. Once again, the baby was all alone.
Thrown In The Dumpster
Four hours after the incident a man working at a meat market came up to the dumpster to dump some store’s trash when two puppies caught his attention. Both the puppies were playing in the middle of the dumpsters. Someone had thrown them into the dumpster. Not to mention, the traumatic sight had disappointed him a lot and he wondered who would have done this to them.
The First Impression
The man who had spotted the puppies made way to the clinic to tell them about those puppies in the trash bin. The clinic that once had refused the admission of the dogs to their institution was all surprised when the man informed that about those two puppies. Brasher made it clear that the worker of the institution had no “idea he was going to discard these puppies. He walked up carrying them like they were his own.”
Unmatched Match
Humans don’t deserve dogs as they are far loyal and trustworthy in comparison to a human. There have been many cases of brutality shown by humans to the dogs. If you are a dog lover, you would know that all these voiceless animal need is care and love. This story clearly demonstrates how ruthless a human can be.
Hurrying To Get The Pups
Brasher immediately went with the staff to fetch the puppies. Had the man not noticed the pups, what wrong would have gone with the baby. She opened the lid with a heavy heart and hope. Fortunately, the pus was alive and very happy to see her. They showed their happiness by wagging their tails at her and began to kiss them once Brasher and the man uplifted them in their arms.
Snuggles!
Brasher explained, “They immediately snuggled up to our kennel supervisor and were all tail wags when we offered them food and love.” Just like any young child, these pups were in need of immense care and love at this stage. They finally got rescued but was that the end of their ordeal? Well, you’ll see.
Back To The Clinic
The first thing they did after having the pups was to take them to the clinic. Thereafter, they made them a bath as they were fully covered with fleas: “we could tell that was a new experience for them — they much preferred the food!”
An Illegal And Inhumane Act
Carolyn Hinojosa, assistant clinic director criticized those who had dumped the pups in the trash bin by saying: “One it’s illegal, two it’s inhumane. If you didn’t like your kid would you dump them in a dumpster? The police have been notified, they are looking for suspects who did dump them.” No need to mention that both the pups were deprived of nourishment and were inflicted with many diseases.
Crockett And Bowie
Later on, the dogs were named Bowie and Crockett. The vets checked them thoroughly to see if they had contracted any illness. Sadly, they had ringworm and parasites all over their body. By observing it looked as if Bowie was Crockett’s big brother as he seemed to be in charge of both. The pup was very adorable and his friendly nature made everyone grow fond of him. Here is Brasher statement about them.
Take My Food
Whenever Crockett felt cold, Bowie would wrap him with his own body. Brasher explains, “When Crockett wouldn’t eat, Bowie was taking pieces of his kibble and laying them by his face. I’ve never seen a puppy do that!” The man has been living around dogs for a long time now and has learned a lot about their behavior.
A Strong Bond
Brasher explained, “When Crockett wouldn’t eat, Bowie was taking pieces of his kibble and laying them by his face. I’ve never seen a puppy do that!” No need to say that they had a very strong friendship. Bowie was doing fine but Crockett, unfortunately, did not seem to be in good shape. He apparently had been caught by a deadly virus. People learned about his deteriorating condition through the Facebook page for the San Antonio Pets Alive!
A Deadly Virus
The little pup had Parvovirus. Well, this disease is known for its highly communicable by nature and in worse cases can be life-threatening. That is the very reason, why they had to separate Crockett from Bowie. The cure seemed to be next to be difficult. The organization made a public appeal “Crockett and Bowie NEED YOU to be healthy puppies–they need A LOT of medical care NOW!”
Expensive Treatment
Parvovirus is deadly enough to take someone’s lives if not treated in time. Naturally, the treatment of this disease requires lots of money. The duo had made a soft spot in staff’s heart and so losing any of them would hurt them a lot. They appealed to the public through their Facebook page to extend a hand of help for them. The post read…….
Special Care
“These puppies will need a lot of medical treatment (including Parvovirus treatment which costs $500 a puppy), medicines, IVs and special food.” The post made many hearts melt.
Donations For Crockett And Bowie
Bowie and Crockett became a sensation on the Internet and TV after the local press covered them. That helped in creating awareness among the public about the worsening condition of dogs. Along with that many people donated whatever they could to make the organization meet treatment expenses.
Help From Everyone
Help poured in from every corner of the country. Every dog lover who came across this post extended the hand of help towards the organization. Very soon, the clinic received help from many people. No doubt, their post had reached to the heart of many dog lovers. But was it enough? Would that do to bring those pups back to the health?
A Happy Pup
A little help makes a big difference! After a while, Brasher informed the public that the pups are recovering rapidly. Bowie and Crockett were doing really fine. The staff has managed to get them cleaned and parasite-free. They were given the regular dosage of medicines too. As now they had their belly full of food, they had become more adorable. Brasher wrote, “We are very hopeful for full recoveries.” Everything was perfect for Bowie but Crockett still had to go through parvo treatment.
Missing His Brother
That is how Bowie and Crockett got separated for a few days till he recovers fully. The pup was put on strict medication. Fortunately, the treatment began to show signs of improvement and after days of IVs and treatment Crockett began to turn into “more adventurous now and is climbing the baby gate in his kennel to get to staff for attention.” On the other side, Bowie was being adored by the staff.
The Cuddle Bug
Getting his belly rubbed and be held in arms like a small baby is what makes Bowie happy. Brasher also revealed that the pooch is a kisser too. He stated, “He also gives very polite little nose kisses!”The plan is that the family would start looking for a suitable family for them as soon as they become healthy again.
A Lot Of Gratitude
One more thing that these pups love to do is to snuggle with the clinic’s staff. They would also run after them in a playful manner. These pups are extremely cute and anyone would love to adopt them. Bowie and Crockett
A Police Report
If we believe the organization director then the staff members of the institution have made a complaint against the man in the police. Authorities are searching for evidence by looking at the cameras installed around the premises where pups were spotted. The organization is not going to let go of the person at any cost. They are hell-bent on bringing him to justice.
Help The Puppies
These pups are voiceless and so totally unable to take the name of the person who abandoned them in the middle of the trash. Brasher and the other staff of the clinic were very miffed at the man in question who decided to take such a heartless step. Brascher also pointed out that their clinic does not take in strays.
The Euthanasia List
Brasher further explained during an interview to a television station: “Those puppies’ lives were in danger, and as happy as we are to help them, they’ve taken a kennel from a dog that’s on the euthanasia list at the city shelter.” Due to the constant rain, many animals had gotten under the dark wings of the virus. But soon good news made its way to them.
Crockett Is Healthy!
Everything was getting back on right track. The treatment that the Crockett was put on began to show improvements in his health and very soon he fully recovered from the virus. The organization disseminated this information through its Facebook page.
Again A Test
The post stated that Crockett was put on a test once again but this time the result came negative for parvovirus. It was then the staff ended the isolated state of his and let him share space with his bro. Crockett was soon going to meet his brother Bowie.
Back Again
Soon the brothers for life reunited. Even though they had been staying away from each other for a long time their affection for each other did not lessen a bit. In fact, as both of them had gotten healthier they would spend most of their time together playing and running around. Now it seemed things were only going to be better for them.
Pups Filled With Hope
Now, these pups are all set to start a new and happy journey of their lives. A life free of parasites, uncertainty, and fear. As far as Crockett is concerned, his fur is growing back now and is in a healthy state. “Despite their rough start to life, these boys are the sweetest and so hopeful!” said the post put out by ‘San Antonio Pets Alive! on their social media page. The only thing they need now is a home and a family that would adopt them.
Heartwarming Story
The story of these dogs surely tug to our heartstrings and forces us to reconsider our cold behavior towards them. Just like human craves for care and love, dogs too require those things in order to live a happy life. Reward their loyalty with your love.
